Perfect Sugar Cookie Recipe



These buttery, sweet, and utterly delicious Perfect Sugar Cookies are a classic treat. They're simple to make and ideal for any occasion, from a holiday gathering to a simple afternoon snack.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup 225g unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup 200g granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups 375g all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Sprinkles or colored sugar optional

Instructions:

Melt the butter and mix it with the sugar in a large bowl until the mixture is light and fluffy

Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix them in well

Mix the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt together in a different bowl

Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ones and mix them together until they are just combined

Two equal pieces of dough should be taken out and shaped into discs

Cover the discs with plastic wrap and put them in the fridge for at least an hour

Warm your oven up to 350F 175C and put parchment paper on baking sheets

Take the dough out of the fridge and let it sit for a few minutes at room temperature to get a little softer

Put some flour on a surface and roll out one disc of dough until it's about 1/4 inch thick

Cut out the shapes you want with cookie cutters and place them on the baking sheets that have been prepared

You can add sprinkles or colored sugar to the cookies if you want to

For 8 to 10 minutes, or until the edges start to turn golden brown, bake the cookies

Once the cookies are done, take them out of the oven and let them cool for a few minutes on the baking sheets

Then, move them to wire racks to cool completely

Do the same things with the rest of the dough: roll, cut, and bake

When the cookies are completely cool, put them in a container that won't let air in
